It's been long

In Japan, employees occasionally work themselves to death. It's called Karoshi. I don't want that to happen to anybody in my department.

The trick is to take a break as soon as you see a bright light and hear dead relatives beckon.
— Pointy Haired Boss, in a Dilbert cartoon

Things were (and still are) tough at the workplace for quite a few months. Many times, it is the Dilbert cartoon I have quoted above that has helped me retain sanity. This is the main cause of my long silence.

Till I can post next, here is a mp3 version of a classic shellac recording of M. Balamuralikrishna with my idol M. S. Gopalakrishnan on the violin, for your listening pleasure. Any further words are redundant.

I am also pleased to inform you that sahityam.net is coming along well, with both the content and the traffic increasingly slowly but steadily. It has received some good words and has also attracted a few contributors. The bulk of the content is due to the sterling efforts of Sri V. Govindan. (An example: Nada sudha)

Clearly BMK is a genius and he is at his peak in this recording.

Nice to see many songs in "sahityam".

Vijay,

Yes, this recording is a classic. BMK-MSG-TVG teamed up to present many classic live concerts.

Thyagaraja and Dikshithar krithis make up the bulk of sahityam.net content. Almost all of them are courtesy of Sri Govindan.

Hey Srikanth,

I stumbled upon Sahityam.net and thereby to this blog.. The wiki is fabulous and has an excellent simplistic structure to it! And transLipi is amongst the best and user-friendly transliteration tools I have seen across the web for Indian languages! I have ever seen amongst all the Although am not anywhere near in knowledge to edit anything there, I have forwarded the same to all carnatic enthusiasts I know. Do keep any special efforts that are going in or roadblocks coming in updated on the wiki itself so that all users can assist in creating a comprehensive online sahityam.

Kudos!

Regards,

Sudarshan,

Thanks a lot for your kind words, and for referring the site to your friends!

Are you a Telugu speaker?

No.. Am a Tamil speaker.. But unfortunately one of those who are not well versed with their mother toungue.. :-/

Can an add-on to the site (like translipi) be created wherein the notations for the songs can be incorporated? Once the notation add-on can be added, the site will be an absolutely complete sahityam. :)
